1. What do you think about when you hear the word ‘joy’? Is there a difference between joy as the fruits of the spirit and ordinary cheerfulness and happiness? If so, what makes the difference?

 

2. What are the main reasons for great celebrations of joy in your culture? Can Christians enter into them, or are they contrary to the Bible’s teaching? In what ways?

 

3. What barriers exist that stifle biblical joy in you or others? How can we foster joy despite these barriers?

 

4. In what areas can your ministry team help us to grow in joy? How can your team exhort one another and build up our church as a whole?

 

5. What habits can strengthen the fruit of joy this week as you commune with Christ?
