Matte serves as a non-staff Pastor and helps lead the songwriters team.

Matte grew up in Hudson, Ohio and graduated from Miami University with a BS in Engineering. He currently works full-time as a software developer and part-time trying to explain to people what that means. He met his now wife (Lexie) in the third grade. Thanks to his poor performance in the class spelling bee, it took fifteen years to convince her to marry him. Upon moving to Cleveland Heights, he fell in love with City Church and all things Cleveland.

When not in the office, you will probably find him walking around Coventry with his wife and children (Henley, Thatcher, and Nolan), working out in his garage, or writing hymns.
